Hi – I’m Alistair Gardiner, writer. Thanks for visiting my website – it’s not long up (EDIT at 21/12/24 it is now, but I’m too busy writing to make it the all-singing spectacle it should be!!!!) so forgive me for being brief. As time goes on, I hope we can get to know one another better on here – but meantime, I’m the first to admit it’s all pretty basic! (But all my own work!) (I write better than I build websites…) (EDIT at 21/12/24 Looking more and more like this is good as it gets!!!!!!!!!!! But I do keep it up to date, as well as regularly adding to “Books I’ve Read”.) (Well, fairly regularly…)
I now write write four series – the Sam & Daisy murder mysteries, Dawn & Roger’s “Con Woman” adventures, and a standalone featuring Mark Rogers, hapless optometrist. (I used to be one of those – an optometrist, although not necessarily… ok, matter of opinion.) And fair enough… a standalone ISN’T a series, but I might write another one some day… Series number THREE (then), featuring my DI/DCI Jones Police Procedural stories, is… well, I think it might be my best yet! I’ve published four “Jones” books so far – and the next is imminent. Judge for yourself – you can see them all via the “MY BOOKS” tab.
STOP PRESS – I’ve decided to UNPUBLISH Eyes Up. It is no longer available on Amazon. The reason being, I’ve noticed too many people are reading “some” of it on Kindle Unlimited – but not all of it! And yes, if you like my thrillers, cozy mysteries, and police procedurals, and think – I really like this guy’s books so, since this is the only one I haven’t read – it is probably a culture shock. In the trade, we refer to this as “genre hopping” – and consider it a bad thing to do!!! If anybody REALLY wants to read it (bearing in mind yet again that it’s a “James Herriot” style comedic/medico with NO murders – I’d be happy to send you an epub or mobi. Free of charge. (Use the contact form on my website – put ajagardinerwriter into your search bar.) But for the moment, I’ve had to take the hard decision it might be doing more harm than good!!! Hence – I’ve killed it!
I live in Scotland with my partner and our dogs (and hens) and since retiring from the once wonderful but now all-too-increasingly red-tape encumbered world of eyes I have finally been able to fulfil my lifetime ambition – to be a writer. (Did I, though? You be the judge, dear reader!)
